Unhappy 96 Ram 5.2l Starts Wont Stay Running

I Just Recently Purchased A 96' Ram 1500 And This Is The First Problem I Have Run Into..... The Truck Sometimes Wont Start(just A Click), If I Keep Tryin A Couple Times It Starts But Wont Stay Running, If I Give It Lots Of Gas The Rpms Drop Like The Motor Bottoms Out And There Is A Clunk Noise, If I Stay On The Gas The Rpms Raise Like Normal And If I Keep Steady Gas It Runs, But When I Let Off The Gas It Drops To Idle, Then Dies Out Immediately. The Check Engine Light Is Not On. I No Very Little About Vehicles And Dont Have Money To Send It To A Shop For Repair. Any Help Would Be Greatly Appreciated.

It sounds like maybe your alternator is bad ...... have a parts store like Advance or Auto Zone test it for you... It's free of charge...

You need a new battery. I had the very same trouble with my 97. The ECM is very fussy it must have a steady 12 volts to it.
