tones when starting

I recently removed the instrument panel of my 2000 explorer to fix a burned out lamp. After reinstalling the panel, I started to hear tones after starting the engine. I get a single tone as the engine starts and then a series of five tones several times. What do the tones mean and how do I fix the problem?

Have you removed that panel and checked it out then reconnected it already? If not I would take that step and then see if the sounds persist.

Re: tones when starting

step one - look for the air bag light to prove out - if yes check abs and engine lights to prove out - if they all do drop a line and check for other warning tones
