Re: Clearance Sale At MVP!!
Once I start needing to tune I think I'll go Greddy Emanage and some wideband setup.

Re: Clearance Sale At MVP!!
I've heard AEMs are a b*tch to tune. They recommend that you have an AEM employee come to your house to tune it. If you check on 3si I know a few people are running it over there...and I think talskinyguy from here is running it as well.
It isn't just a piggyback, it's an entirely new standalone ECU, but the benefits with it are huge if you ever plan on running alot of variables, like nitrous, propane, larger turbos, timing control, etc, together...it allows for alot more tune-ability.

A bunch of the St. Louis guys are running the AEM and they all really liked it. Last week they had an AEM certified tech down here and he fiddled and tuned the cars. Now they all swear by the damn thing and would probably sell of their firstborn for it. If you're planning any real serious modding; plain and simple, it's the way to go.

Re: Clearance Sale At MVP!!
the AEM is not the easiest to tune, but it is fairly easy if you know even the basics of tuning an engine and you are good at problem sovling.
Well my future project was to buy a 5.0 mustang and swap the engine to the vr4 shell I have sometime down the road, using the aem to control the engine. However AEM just came out with a "universal" EMS so now im thinking lt1 camaro or 4.6 mustang. Either way I will end up with a RWD TT V8 3000GT. Well, those are the plans anyways, who knows if I will ever finish all that.

Re: Clearance Sale At MVP!!
cool project but sounds too complicated... lots of chop and saw. If i was going to do any engine it would be a strait 6. thinking mabey skyline or supra.

Re: Clearance Sale At MVP!!
Same amount of choping and sawing to the body, but I end up with twice the displacement and tons of cheeper aftermarket parts. 1000hp is much easyer to get with 5.7 liters than it is to get with 3

Re: Clearance Sale At MVP!!
ya, a bunch of people in the Dallas/Ft. Worth 3S crew are running the AEM. i've heard nothing but good things from them, but yes, they've drastically upgraded turbos, intake, and a bunch of other things as well.
