i have a 93 toyota supra NA auto. i just got it and i want the engine to push 700 whp so i want to replace the NA engine with a tt engine what all do i have to do to convert it over. then eventually bigger injectors and upgrade the ecu so i can bolt a t78 single up and other basic mods.

Re: motor swap

In order for you to really do it correctly, your going to have to replace the bottom end, tranny, ecu, and rear end. If you've completed that, the single turbo setup and injectors are easy after that. Your going to need a built TT tranny to take the boost from the T78. Injectors are going to be needed as well as a walboro fuel pump, maybe two to be on the safe side or if you plan to go bigger. After that plus a little misc. stuff, you should be pushing 700 easily. Any other questions, just ask away.

Re: motor swap

Your going to need the transmission definitely. The n/a tranny you have will not hold the boost. It will for a little while but it's just a matter of time, could be a week, could be 6 months. It's a gamble if you don't get a better tranny. Your also going to be missing the rear end and the gearing. You might not be satisfied with having the n/a diff but that shouldn't be a problem with durability. There is not too much work involved as long as you know what your doing. There will be some headaches with dealing with the stock vacum wiring, it's a pain in the ass as you'll find out. just try to put as much work into the motor as you can before you drop it in.

Re: motor swap

It's a pain when you don't have any help. Go to MKIV.com and they should have the vaccum diagram for it. If not, I can go outside and take a picture of the one that's underneath my hood for you.

Re: motor swap

your still going to need to rebuild it with low compression pistons and better rods just in case. After that, your going to need a much better transmission like GM th400 or a upgraded TT transmission but I don't believe a TT tranny will fit or hook up. After that, then you should be able to push 700 easy. I'll look more into your trans situation for you.

Re: motor swap

nothing is needed to do the swap other than the motor ecu and harness, but the tranny will not hold the boost for long, it was not designed to take boosted applications. It's a matter of time.
