Hi everyone
I have a 1995 jetta .. This is my first jette I know next to nothing about them . My stereo is bad and I’m looking into replacing it, with an after market. I was told I had to have a dealer or specialty shop replace it because, of the security system is somehow wired into the radio... How does that work? I would rather do the job this myself to save some money. Also, just how many speakers should I have? It looks like speakers in the front and back doors and some kind of a small speaker on top of the dash. Any suggestions or know how, will be greatly appreciated. Thanks for all your help Thumper95 |

Re: stereo install??????
There shouldn't be any problem with the ECM on the '95.

Re: stereo install??????
you shouldnt have any problems putting in the aftermarket radio. i put one in my 96 jetta and it is basically the same. what you are going to need is a wiring harness for it. i bought one for 20 bukz at best buy. just match the colors EXCEPT on the the wiring harness you buy red is NOT power orange is. i sat there all day thinking red was the power and trying to figure it out and it came out that orange was power. for some reason the harness you buy and orange isnt power then red should be.
