Headlight Conversion?? (pics of tbird included)
1991 Ford Thunderbird ...3.6l v6, auto, 150k miles...
My car is in such good shape for the mileage but a few things come to mind to make my driving better. Now old Ford headlights flat out suck, I mean with all the respect they are great when they're new but after a while they get really yellow and cloudy even. I sanded off the yellow but still after the headlights have sat out so long... It becomes like a car's finish and starts to fade away. I've seen plenty of old cars with new paint jobs and the dull looking headlights.. It just looks like crap. So my question... How do I convert them and What can I convert them to? I've seen many people online with Thunderbird's the same year as mine converting them. Such as Ford Thunderbird to Mustang headlights... I saw some headlights at Walmart and they are really cheap. I have no headlight knowledge on converting whatsoever. But would like some new ones without getting the same ones especially for over 150$. So if any of you do have any information, I'd greatly appreciate it. ![]() Right here they look alright after being waxed but up close theyre all dull inside ....should I consider cleaning the inside? ![]() after getting windows tinted (with many other mods done)...and sporting my wade headlight covers. That little front piece you see was my "body kit" which was so ****ing inconvienant, I HAD to remove it, besides from living in an area where curbs are everywhere. I pratically broke it first. It was this cheap fiberglass thing anyway. I removed that and re-painted my bumper. Just had to say that in my defense although some people do like that look. It looks alot "meaner" now without it. Let me know what u guys think!

Re: Idea I want to pursue: Headlight Conversion
i guarantee you've never seen a tbird converted to mustang headlights. send 'em on out to big mike on tccoa.. for $60 he cleans the sh!t out of 'em and makes 'em look brand new.
if you're interested in a headlight swap to later model tbird lights (94-97) then that would require a LOT of work.

Re: Idea I want to pursue: Headlight Conversion
he can send you out a set of lights and in return, you send him his, so no downtime. send a PM to big mike on tccoa forums. or just check the for sale forum. i believe his post is stickied at the top.
here's a pic of what mine looked like, and the set he sent me. the ones he sent me were just as yellowed as mine were til he cleaned them.
