Freon Leak
A couple of days ago my a/c stopped blowing cool air and my compressor didn't kick on. So i added some freon, but then discovered a leak at the connection between the evaporator and condensor. When i went to tighten it the leak became worse. Eventually it ran out of freon again and stopped leaking. I'm just wondering what might be wrong. PLEASE HELP!!!!
Ok i figured out what the cylinder is, its the receiver dryer. The pipe that is cracked is going from the condensor to the top of the receiver, can i just by a new pipe ( if so where can i find one) or will i have to replace the entire receiver? Last edited by toyotamatt; 04-23-2005 at 09:32 PM. |

Re: Freon Leak
Take the connection apart and replace whatever type of seal is damaged in the connection. Once you have it corrected, add freon and lubricant oil as needed.

Re: Re: Freon Leak
Thanks man. Just one more question though. How do you tell which seal is damaged.

Re: Freon Leak
Factory replacement parts. toyotapartsales.com Chris and Barb King. Great sevice and prices. I use them all the time. In regards to seals. Whenever you open an a/c line, fitting, or component that has a seal just replace it with a new one. They are cheap compared to recharging your system again.
