87 Fx-16 Gt-s

My dad just got a 1987 fx-16 gt-s. I drove it, it felt faster/sounded a ton faster then it really was. Its still a fun car to drive. Anyways, the motor in it runs great, but my dad wants to know if he can swap in like a vtec motor or something. He wants to make it a sleeper...From what I can see, there isn't much room in the engine bay for like a H22 or anything, so I told him no...He asked me to ask around online, so I'm asking here. Is there any motors that swap in (Without a ton of work) that make more power?

20B (3 rotor Mazda racing engine) Saw a vid of a AE86 with it, thing accelerated like nothing I've ever seen. Would cost a ton, but would be worth it.

you can swap any engine ~ as long as money talks. anyhow, you got a 4age in your fx, why not consider a 20v 4age or a 4agze? those are plenty fast too.
