2000 5.0 Explorer EGR valve change (or clean)
Any body done this before? There is a flex pipe that comes up to the bottom of the EGR valve from the exhaust manifold. How hard, or easy, is it to disconnect this pipe connection so that I can then remove the EGR from the intake? Any advise on the removal of this would be great. The pipe connection is a little rusty. Damn New England weather.

Re: 2000 5.0 Explorer EGR valve change (or clean)
Spray it really good with penetrating oil first. Most of the time they come off fairly easily. Watch the pipe, if it starts to twist, stop immediately and re-tighten and spray inside the flare nut so it will get to the pipe.
