95 Jeep Grand Cherokee oil leak

I waas driving home, and all of a sudden my jeep started smoking. I stopped at the gas station. and oil was pouring out. Can someone tell me what would cause this sudden oil leak, and where it might be coming from, and how to fix it if it is the rear main seal. It's not coming from the valve covers, or the oil pan. Please help!.

If you can't tell exactly where the oil is coming from, you need to take it to a car wash and clean the engine and under carriage. Then look for the leak. Usually with a leak like you describe, it's easy to tell by watching it run out.

Re: 95 Jeep Grand Cherokee oil leak

can be from a number of sources, oil filter , or the housing that attaches to the engine block, or even the oil pressure sending unit , rear main seal would be a source low in the engine, near the trans attach point , my best guess
