My buddy's ford ranger

I am looking to get into the auto restoration/customization biz really soon here. When I told my buddy that I want to get into this business, he offered me his truck to work on for practice. He owns a 93 (I think) no-frills Ranger pickup that is in bad condition bodywise (both bumpers are impacted, grill is trash, some pretty bad dings throughout the body and headlights are busted). I really want to blow him away with my resto job (he considers the truck a lost cause). He's a middle age guy and he uses his truck for work so I'm not going to be able to lower it or anything too extreme. I'm not really into minitrucks so I need some advice:
What kind of mods can I do to make his truck stand out but still fit into the working man's world? Right now I'm thinking spray on bedliner, custom billet grill, projector headlights and shaving down the rear bumper. Also, he has no stereo so I want to put sound in. What kind of subs can I fit into a truck like that?

Biggest I've gotten in my tiny 88' XLT is a 10" 400 watt peak AudioBahn with 1000 watt peak amp. It was pretty loud, but I expect my new system to much louder. I got a 10" 1,500 RMS watt AudioBahn immortal. It was too big to fit behind my seat so I bought some bucket seats. The speaker has 4 voice coils and is longer than it is wide, so it was awkward trying to get it to fit. I was unable to get it to fit sideways. The 400 fit with the speaker towards the passenger seat. You could kind of tell, but it's not very noticable.

I like running 1 10 because you can bridge it. ***Just make sure to get a 2ohm stable amp if your bridging a 4ohm speaker.
