Cool Se-R owner cant see the lights.

I just replaced the factory radio in my 02 SE-R and now I have no instrument lights.After swapping the radio I have 3 wires not being used.Somebody please help me,the wife is giving me the old.......well if you would have left it alone....... speech.

first check all your fuses... and does the "new" radio actually work?

fuses are good,must have something to do with the factory dimmer for the radio.

sounds like you may have grounded out the dash light feeder. many people mistake the dash light feeder for a ground because factory radios have a separate wire for the radio light & aftermarket radios just have it wired in with the main power, so its usually the only wire left.(but i know you have 3) go back & see what wire you hooked to the ground.try running a new ground yourself to a nut or bold on the metal body somewhere under the dash. then recheck your instrument light fuse, making sure to check all the fuse box locations, as most cars have more than one fuse box. you`ll prolly find a blown fuse, due to grounding the dash light radio feed.

Is your Mute wire hooked up? Try that. i put a system in an SRT4 and same things happened. couldn't figure it out. then i hooked up the mute wire and took care of the prob.
