Progress : 2001 Subaru WRC

This is my latest project, its a tamiya 2001 subaru impreza. Not much progress so far just laid down some primer and finished it off with some mica blue paint. I think it doesn't need clear, just a little bit of polishing. Its going to be box stock except for some seat belts. Thanks for looking.

I might be wrong, and one of AF's more experienced modellers will correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think you want to polish the mica blue as it has reflective flakes in it. Polishing may actually dull it. If I am correct you should put a few layers of clear down and polish that out instead.

I think Sticky fingers is correct, as I've just completed a Subaru WRC using Mica Blue, and I didn't polish the body. I just waxed the body after I applied the decals.

Had a nasty shock with TS-13 clear resulting in me having to strip the paint off.

A light polish should be okay, sanding is a definite nono for metallic and mica colours. Of course if it were me I'd clear coat it, but that's personal preference.

Thanks guys for the feedback, I know it is a nono for sanding it down and polishing. I will consider putting clear on it, for polishing without clear i'll try a small section just to be cautious, Thanks again for the valuable feedback.

Sweet, love to the Subies on the forum. And it looks like the woods in the background are eagerly awaiting that rally car to pay them a visit.

Nice paintjob, am also working on a Impreza, but the 2002 model and it will be a street car (racer) instead of the wrc :P
