What are you? Collector or Scratch Builder ?

What do you like to do the most? Collect die casts and let them set on the wall/shelf/desk? Or Fabricate your own parts, or scratch build things? I find Fabricating/scratch building takes more time, and more skill, but you can really also enjoy it.

Re: What are you? Collector or Scratch Builder ?

those days are over for me. it was too time consuming and cost way too much at the end. nowadays, i'll stick with nice diecasts and swap afew things here and there on some models and that's it. still enjoyn the hobby just as much or even more.

I don't know anyone besides mike that actually scratchbuilds cars. That might be easier with plastic but with diecast it's easier to work off of what you have. I tend to cannibalize other cars, paint things, and work with some various other things (semi-build spoilers). I really don't have the time to do much more than that.
