Upgrade 94 grill to 98 grill

I drive a 1994 with a work truck front grill. I want to upgrade it to a 1995-1998 grill. If I get a new grill shell, is it a perfect fit or does anything need to be modified. There would have to be some wiring changes because the current grill has the single headlight. Any help would be appreciated.

Hmm...that does sound kinda tought with the wiring and such...but your in luck...the great site of www.ckresto.com should have almost anything you need, grill, lights, hardware, wiring and all that ya ya stuff so I'd suggest you go there and check out everything, and it's pretty easy to just order a catalog too, I have one since I ordered taillights from them. If they don't have everything you need come back here and I'll list a couple more sites that are possibilities.

Thanks. I could have used this website a long time ago. It's affordable and seems to have everything I need. Hope it works out if I order everything.

Hi - I found some great info at www.mrtaillight.com

There is a complete walkthrough on how to convert from a work grill to a composite headlight grill - Cheap parts also. But if you're buying a grill... do NOT go aftermarket.. The place where the bowtie bolts on is cheesy, it looks so bad because they can't make an aftermarket grill thats exactly like OEM, and so the bowtie sticks out like 1/2" and looks horrible, and obviously aftermarket. Search ebay for a factory grill, i've bought two NEW ones over the past several months under $100. You just gotta look - use search words like Tahoe and Suburban also, same grill.

Re: Upgrade 94 grill to 98 grill

While I don't plan on changing the grill on my '94 W/T, I was wondering if anybody remembers the ad GM used back then to tout their high impact resistant grills on the W/T? I bought my truck new in May of '94 and it was the following March I was on my way to work at 5 a.m. when I was driving down a rural road at 55 - 60 m.p.h. when a couple of deer came out into the road suddenly. I ended up hitting one with my truck and the deer "rolled" to the side of the road. I got out to see if the deer was dead and it got up and ambled off into the woods. I looked at the truck and there was no damage! Apparently the deer bounced off the grill, and there was a very tiny crack in the Chevy bowtie emblem in the center of the grill. There was also a bunch of "hair" or "fur" caught around my front license plate. The guy at the bodyshop at my dealership where I bought the truck was amazed. He said had it been about 20 degrees colder outside, I might have shattered the grill.

Yeah Chevy's are just plain tough. haha I hit a good sized doe going 45 mph and it didn't do anything except cracked my lower turn signal and that's still holding together. Yet I here of people in their cars hitting a deer at 50 mph and totalling their cars. Not like I'd swerve to miss a deer anyways
