Thermostat gasket & vin

I need a thermostat casket for my 1992 325is. When going to order I find I have two choices: a gasket for a BMW built before April 1992 or after May 1992 on. How do I find when my BMW was built? And the second part of question, any free sites where I can type in my vin and it will tell me what it means?

Re: Thermostat gasket & vin

You'll find the date and place of manufacture on a sticker located on the driver side door jamb.
