Get any car to take a turn real fast with the right technique, and you can get it to fishtail. I get my sentra to drift around tight corners

So my question is this; What's the point? Do they get points for hitting people, cars and light poles, I watched the long vid and not once did I get the feeling that there was any kind of reasoning behind what those morons were doing.
