tail lights for '97 Jetta

I have a '97 Jetta GLX VR6

my passenger tail light has a crack in it and i was going to just buy a stock one to replace it, but i have been looking at the euro style lights and the cost is about the same (some cheaper), but i have only seen them for 99+ models.

do they make them for a '97? if so, is there a website i can check?

I have been looking for the same for about a year now, I have not had any luck eaither. My local dealer suggested that I email VW.com with the request, if they get enough requests, they may produce them. The only problem with that is, the price will be high.
aim :-)
