Pardon my ignorance but what denotes a 'Pro-Touring' vehicle?

From my understanding, an old car with updated suspension, brakes, wheels, tires, engine, etc. Possibly interior changed with new gauges. I guess it could be different for everyone but that's how I see it.

Re: Pro-touring meet

That's a question that's hotly debated. For me it basically means taking an American rear wheel drive car that by todays standards handles like crap, and upgrading it to corner and brake on par with modern performance cars, as well as go fast in a straight line.

So I believe a '67 Chevelle with 17" wheels, springs, shocks, swaybars, boxed trailing arms, better steering box, etc etc, is a pro touring car.

But a '97 Camaro SS with suspension upgrades is not, nor is, say, an '81 Toyota Celica with suspension upgrades.
