Red face 1997 Monte Carlo Ls Alarm Problem

How do I get the factory alarm to make the horn honk/parking/headlights flash when i use the remote? My remote has 4 buttons on it, Unlock.Lock.Horn(RED).Trunk.

All of the buttons work but the red one. My friend has a 1997 Camero, and he was able to do some door open, ignition off/ignition on, etc thing to turn his on. Is this possible with the Monte carlo? Seems kind of stupid to sell an LS model with no alarm features. If you can help, please let me know, as I don't want to tear out the factory alarm if I dont have to. (Is there an add-on if this is not possible?)

Thanks,
Streetchariot
