What's the tach read when it idles? Does the shakes go away when you drive? More info please.

THX FOR REPLYING, WHEN I'M DRIVING THE BATTERY GAUGE IS NORMAL DOESN'T MOVE AT ALL, BUT WHEN I'M AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT OR JUST IDLING IT MOVES AROUND, SOMETIMES MY MUSIC SYSTEM SHUTS OFF FOR A FEW SECONDS ALSO. NOT SURE IF ITS THE GROUND CABLE OR WHAT, JUST REPLACE THE ALTERNATOR, NOT SURE WHATS THE PROBLEM. THX!

Do you have underdrive pulleys??? If so, take them off.

Re: stang has the shakes!

I had a similar problem and found that there is a small wire running from the Negative battery terminal cable. It runs and grounds to the front clip right by the rubber hood snub. Mine was loose and my battery kept dying and my stereo would clip out. Worth a look at anyways.

hey i have a 93 5.0 h/o and my battery gauge does the same thing but i have underdrive pullies and it started after i put them on, as for the shakes ur timing might need adjusted i am not positive about this but that idle seems a little low.
