Dodge Aries, such a deal!
A friend of the family is giving up driving and wants to sell her rust free '87 Aries. The car has decent options and only 44,000 km (Approx. 27,000 miles)
They are original miles and it runs very well. I would use it just as a really cheap winter beater - daily driver, to save the wear and tear on my good cars. Any thoughts on what it's worth? It may need the usual: tires, belts, tune up etc, since I would buy it 'as is'. Is $500 too high? Is there any thing in particular I should look out for? I seem to recall the Mitsu 2.6 were oil-burners and not as good as the 2.2 engine. Any input you may have would be appreciated. |

Re: Dodge Aries, such a deal!
The 2.2 engine is better than the 2.6. Be sure to have timing belt change at 60k miles for 2.2 engine, the belts are known to stretch near the change interval. If it is fuel injected, good. If not, may have carb problems in the future and need rebuilding. Good as winter car, my boss used to have an 82 wagon. Worst things were too soft seats, stiff gas pedal, and soft springs that still let you feel every big bump.
