Launches
How do you all launch? Any guides online?
When you rev, do you hold down the brake, or leave your clutch disengaged? |

Re: Launches
I have an automatic Grand Am. For my launches, first of all, I turn off ETS to disable the possibility of it cutting timing when it detects wheel spin. Secondly, I put the selector in 3rd to lock out overdrive. Then I hold down the brake with my left foot, rev it up to about 1500 RPM, and then let off the brake and gradually feather in the throttle to prevent spinning, and after I get to a certain point (about 15 MPH) I'm able to give it WOT.

I put the clutch in, raise RPMs to about 3000 revs, then proceed as normal - except perhaps dropping clutch / hitting gas swifter than normal driving. |

Re: Launches
makes its dependence on the car, as some cars need more clutchwork than others to launch.

Ditto every car is different even more so for manuals. In my car which has a 2.0 liter 4 banger front wheel drive I get the rpm's to around 2600 and let out the clucth. If I feel my tires slipping when I let out my clutch, I feather (toggle) the clutch until I can get enough traction to go WOT. Dumping the clutch works if you know the perfect rpm to launch at, and can get traction back quickly, but it's not the best method. You really have to practice. Do what you do in daily driving from a stop, and just turn up the wick until you find the right technique.

Re: Launches
for example my car has no torque so i have to drop it at 4k (with good traction, no less).
