Just thought to add:

On those WRX's, thats an Anti-Lag system thats causing them to flame like that. Basically, it sprays fuel into the exhaust (before the turbo) and burns the fuel, creating pressure thus causing the turbo to spool--basically, eliminates the time it takes for the turbo to spool, but is absolutely horrible towards the well-being of the turbo....

WRONG. NO. That's not how Anti-Lag works.
