A few specifics about your Dad's car would be helpful i.e. year, engine size etc.

You say: ...."when we put a afuse back in it turns over but no spark or nothing....."

Describe what doesn't work....lights? accessories?

We can only 'see' your car by what you tell us.

It may well need a computer, but that should be determined by trouble shooting in an orderly fashion. Putting a battery in backwards (reverse polarity) usually will blow the diodes in the alternator. I know of a number of vehicles that have been jump started backwards, and it did not destroy the computer.
Turn-off all accessories. Ignition switch OFF. Remove the under-hood light bulb.
I suggest connecting the (+) battery to the (+) battery terminal leaving the (-) cable disconnected. Put the trouble light between the (-) battery terminal and the (-) cable. The light should blink. If it does, the computer is online. If the light is steady, disconnect the alternator, and the light should go out, or blink. If so, the alternator is bad.
Give us some feedback on what you find.

I fully understand the ignition is not working......among other things.

You say you replaced the Main Fuse....FYI the ignition circuit is not fused through the Main Fuse. Did you check ALL of the fuses? Check the BTN 40A fuse very carefully.
In closing be careful, shorted wiring/components can cause a fire.
