Does it matter if camshaft company matches valve spring?
Would it make a difference if I ran Crower cams with high RPM (but not crower) dual aftermarket valve springs? Since the cams only contact the rocker arms, wouldn't everything be fine, atleast with a valve adjustment? Thanks for any help.

I would think it would be fine as long as those springs would handle the lift of your cam. I don't see why honda would be any different from any other engines I have built. You just need to make sure your springs are not too tight either. If they are they could eat the lobes right off the cam and if they are not strong enough you will drop a valve real quick.

Also the thing to remember is you can't go throw higher lift cams without higher lift springs,if that is what you are asking. Springs are rated by how much lift they can handle safely. So if you are upgrading to some BIG mofo cams you better get the right springs.Otherwise you will be out of a head and some pistons really quick.

Well I would think it would be alright cause I'm not doing anything drastic. Here are the springs I'm using http://honda-performance.com/info-lv2.asp?id=420&bhcp=1 and I'm using them with the stage 1 Crower cams http://crower.com/cat/import/honda/cams/h23.shtml

From the Crower website:
"Works with stock springs up to factory rev limiter" So you should be fine - since the springs you will be using are stiffer than stock high revs should be no problem. |

Re: Does it matter if camshaft company matches valve spring?
Alright, thanks. Just wanted to make sure I wasn't oblivious to something.
