CEL Interrogation technique?

I'm familiar with other cars having a way of getting the fail code to display when a CEL condition is registered. They are usually displayed by flashing the CEL light in a pattern. The pattern corresponds to a fail code.

Is there a way to get a '93 Camry to fess up it's CEL codes if the CEL is lit?

Check the Haynes repair manual - for your year you can retrieve codes with a paper clip

Re: CEL Interrogation technique?

I have a paper clip, but no Haynes manual. I do plan on obtaining a repair manual, but not Haynes or Chilton.

Could someone describe the paper clip technique in the mean time?

thanks,

Mike
