US Supreme Court refuses to hear case

The US Supreme Court has (again) refused to hear anything in relation to the Terry Schiavo case; but the parents say they aren't giving up

What are they going to to, storm the hospice?

I say, let the poor woman die. She's suffered enough; help her along a little.

The persistence of this case at the highest levels of the US court stystem has little or nothing to do with the wishes of Terri Schiavo, her parents, or her cheating spouse. Those who are trying to overturn the only logical outcome for this case are using them as pawns in a political and religious charade. When GWB was governor of Texas, he signed legislation giving the hospitals rights over the wishes of family to turn off life support for the terminally damaged. It seems unseemly now that he should interfere in a single case to appease the religious right.

To those who are standing outside the hospital waving banners, seeking court injunctions, lobbying for action for Terry etc,I ask - If this woman's life is so sacrosanct to you, can you not allow her a little dignity in her last few days?

The battle for the wider issues that this case has thrown up should not be fought over the hospital bed of one victim.

Those who personally know and care about Terri have enough on their plate,they've been dealing with it for 15 years.The prospect of spending her last days under the minutest of public scrutiny must be unbearable for them.Do them a favour ,and let these issue be debated at a more appropriate time.
