after market radio..dash lights dead
sup guys, i put in a pioneer radio in my 98 accord yesterday and now i notice my cluster lights, dash lights, turn signals & rear lights(constant power only) are out. warning lights ok, ODO light ok, clock light ok. any one have any idea what this could be. i also didnt connect 4 wires. i was a thinkin these wires are tweeter wires that went into the factory radio, are they? or they semhting else i didnt connect? thanks alot for the help
i checked all fuses there ok, only ones i cant really tell are the relays in the engine bay, but i would htink my fuses wouldnt passed test light if they were bad |

im pretty sure there is an orange wire you need to have that hooked up because that is your lights that arnt on

it was the license plate fuse....dont even wana know y....... its fixed and done with! thanks

The reason why is because one of the wires in the factory harness that you unnecessarily hacked off was to the illumination circuit, which dims the display on the factory radio. When you cut that wire, you shorted the circuit and blew the fuse which makes your shit not work. Some aftermarket radios have a dimmer wire which is orange with a white stripe and is to be connected to this wire, but most don't, in which situation you terminate the factory wire so that this doesn't happen. The wire in question is a red with a black stripe. The fuse for that circuit, which you now know is in the interior fuse panel. Next time, buy a wire harness and do it right.
