Re: Dolby Digital in a Honda?
Yes, it is possible, but it's really really expensive. Check out www.crutchfield.com, there was some stuff in their catalogue about it, so they're should be stuff online.

Re: Dolby Digital in a Honda?
it's not that expensive. it just requires a lot of work and a lot of components. you need a head unit that plays dvd's, or sacd's, or dvd audio. but the latter two are not yet available (for a good price) in car audio equipment. so i you have a dvd player in your car, you'll probably want a screen to watch the movies. then you need five speakers, and a sub for true 5.1 surround. then you need a processor and amp(s) to power all this stuff. not to mention the time it takes to fabricate and setup all this. and don't buy from crutchfield, use it for research or whatever, but buy from ebay or another car audio website. cruchfield is way overpriced. hope you find what you're looking for.

Re: Dolby Digital in a Honda?
Exactly, it requires a lot of components, so it's expensive. Getting even just a head unit that plays DVD's runs you at least $500. Get one with the flip out screen, minimum of $1000. And then with the componenet speakers and the subs, if you want it to be somewhat decent, you're looking at at least $400 on speakers, and about the same for a good sub. Processor, amps, another MINIMUM of $500. I'd thnk by the time you're done you're spending around $3000, and even that seems cheap. And it's up to you, but I wouldn't trust e-bay for audio equipment, unless it's new, but even then i'm a little skeptical.

Re: Dolby Digital in a Honda?
I do audio/video/security for a living. Don't buy audio equipment from any website. Trust me. I've seen way too many of my customers do that and end up throwing the money away on bum product they can't return or take anywhere to exchange. The best thing is to buy from somewhere in person locally.
