I had same symptom on my 97 w/star 3.8 a couple years ago, no codes, no a/freeze leak. I found that I could duplicate the heat soak time by feeling the temp of the upper intake bolts,, as soon as they were very hot to the touch, I restarted the van and it would load up , rev the engine for a bit and it cleared up. In the end we changed the lower and upper intake gaskets, and upon inspection of lower gaskets we could see where the gasket failed. After the repair it never happened again.
Same cause for yours??? Hard to say.
