Re: 92 motor in 89 body

You need the power steering reservoir and lines from a 91-98 and you also need a brain and some common sense, and don't say you have any of those because if you did, you wouldn't have asked that question.

Re: 92 motor in 89 body

Ghostchild316 has a DOHC swapped S13. He would know what is required.

Re: 92 motor in 89 body

Damn right I do!Thats exactly what I have,'92 KA in my '89 Fastback.

the 89 tranny bolted right up to the 92 motor so dont ask anything about their compatability.Same goes for the starters and alternators...

lets see here...

-KA24DE motor(duh)
-engine harness and ECU for KA24DE
-ALL power steering lines from DOHC car(hard line that runs under motor, pressure hose, return hose, and resorvior)
-MAF sensor for KA24DE and piping
-minor wiring.Don't get scared now,it's so easy a monkey can do it.
-tach from DOHC car

*You could use the heater hoses from the KA24E,but it looks better if you use the ones for a KA24DE.*

-The sohc interior harness(plug right by ecu under dashboard)is different from the dohc harness. You could either splice the wires or get a matching plug for either harness.Clip the old one and wire the new matching plug in.As for the wiring, all you have to do is match the colors. That's it!whatever is left, throw it aside.

Also,The stock "downpipe" bolts up the KA24DE's exhaust manifold.

It's a pretty easy swap especially if you have the correct tools.Could be done in less than one day if everything were to go smooth, but nothing ever does...*cough*broken motor mount*cough*cough*

Have fun and good luck!

Re: 92 motor in 89 body

GTStang had a pick of a 240SX in his sig that said "2 slow, 2 gay" and monooxide told him he was a faggot so he got banned for 10 days.
