blew the fusible link (80 A) in my 88 camry le wagon and just cannot get the thing out to replace it. i'm afraid i might have screwed up the connector while trying. is there a trick to this one?...the other 2 (30 & 40) slide right out. what gives?

I had the exact same problem myself, just today, i ended up turning that 80A fuse into about 80 pieces, before i realise the metal prongs are bolted into that little black fusbox on the positive terminal... on both sides of that box there is a flip cover that i was unable to open without a knife/flathead screwdriver. under each of these covers is a little gold bolt/screw... i had to lossen mine using vice-grips for lack of better tools on site, but a phillips head screw driver is all you need, once you remove those bolts, the 80A moves just as easy as the other two. repost if your camry is different, but mines a 91, so i dont see any reason for a major difference since we both had the same problem.
