Rear tire wobbling (96 JGC) help!

My car was hit in the back passenger side about three months ago, the driver side axle was replaced (the opposite side of the car was on the curb and the force cracked the rear drivers side rim). I have had problems witht the rearend since and have been trying to find a replacement. However it is still driveable, at least I thought it was until today. I also had the rear brakes re-done after the accident, when this was done the parking brake was removed, the mechanic told me that it was worn out and useless and had the potential to lock up the wheel at any time. Earlier today my brother was driving behind me and told me my passenger side rear wheel was wobbling. This is where the impact took place but nothing was ever done with this axle. There may actually be no problem with that axle, Im thinking it may have to do with a bent rotor or what happened when the brakes were done. I also thought it could be the rim it self so I switched the tire and rim with another one and that rear passenger still wobbled. What could cause this to happen, brakes, rotor, absense of the parking brake, bad axle??? Im not sure where to start, thanks!

Bent axle shaft? Are you referring to the the axle (one on each side)being bent or the rearend (housing shaft that the axle slides into)? How difficult is it to cjange an axle, Im mechanically inclined when it comes to engines but not rearends and differentials?? Thanks for your help!

I'm talking about the axle shaft, the part that goes into the housing, the flange where the wheel bolts on is probably bent

Re: Rear tire wobbling (96 JGC) help!

Thanks again xj31 for the info, I appreciate it. How hard is it to replace that? I saw something at quadrates for complete replacement hub assemblies? Do you know where I could get an axle, Im sure I could find a used one at a junk yard but Id like to replace it with something new or an upgrade? Thanks for your advice!

I don't know about any upgrades you can do but I can tell you that if you buy the shaft from the dealer it is ridiculously expensive.Just be careful with a junkyard part, make sure it isn't worse than what you got
