I'm looking for a transaxle for my caravan. Does anyone know where I could find one without it costing me my right arm and leg, along with half my back and my first grandchild? Everything I have found runs between 1300 to 2000 and that is used.

Re: Tranaxle for 97 Caravan
If you can't find anything better at a junkyard, try ebay, they have transmissions for sell. Maybe it's me, but for $1500, you can have the transmission rebuilt, at certain places.

Re: Tranaxle for 97 Caravan
When you say transaxle, do you mean a half-shaft or the whole tranny? I've been getting half-shafts for about $100 rebuilt, with a $30 core charge.

I've also replace both of my half shafts for $75 each via Autozone. They are the new units and have a very low core charge. They are also lifetime replacements. Once you have all the tools to do the job, it goes quick! Passenger side took approx 7 hours (the learning curve here), driver side took 2 hrs.
