Unhappy Fuel Filter

I was driving home last night and my truck started spitting at me. would lose speed going up a hill and if i floor the pedal it is almost like i take my foot off the pedal. (nose dives and i can hear the engine almost shut off)

a friend told me it could be my fuel filter or pump. the fuel filter is slap full of fuel and i remember the last one i changed out was no where near that full and i can see just a small amount of fuel going through it.

Any ideas. and should the filter be that full?

Peace

My truck ran just like yours and I replaced the filter (which didn't look that dirty) and it fixed it. We're talking less than ten bucks and 10 minutes to replace it so why not try it? I think the pump is closer to $75-100.
BTW, the color of your truck is really sweet. Nice ride.
