Major interior change desired

Let's face it, in a 91-96 PA, storage for the driver sucks. The little fold down console works, but has limited space. The 97-05 Pa's have an optional center console, eliminating the middle passenger. I never have more than one other person in the car, so a dedicated cented console would be awesome. I can get a console from a newer PA, but my problem lies in that middle seat. I'm not crazy about cutting my seat apart, just to find out it won't work. I'm positive that neither the PA or LeSabre had available bucket seats, so I can't just buy another one.

I'm exploring my options right now. Ideally, I'd like the newer PA console. I'm also considering building a mini console to sit on the floor in front of the middle seat. I know there are companies that make consoles like that, but I havent found one I like yet.

Just wondering what everyone else does for storage of CD's sunglasses, cell phones, mp3 players and the liek in your PA's.

I agree, my Lesabre had more storage places than my PA. My 92 Bonne has them both beat hands down. Luckily my cell stays in that lip in front of the climate control. Glasses go above the visor. I also bought a spillmate cupholder/floor console deal as a temp solution but would be interested in the companies you know of that make better ones.

Storage problems?
My cell phone stays on my belt, cd's and tapes in the fold down armrest, sunglasses I wear (gotta look cool day and night),papers in the glovebox, dead people in the trunk (plenty of space), empty big gulps fly to the back, spare transmission behind the passenger seat,

...I mean come on, storage problems!? Who needs to drive around with his whole household? How much of the stuff inside your car do you really need?...seriously...

The fold down console is fine for the CD's and the shades' but things like an MP3 player I wish to add, and a place to store the cellie. I'm a big guy, if the cell was on my belt, it'd poke me, and thats bad.

I just need to find a spare PA driver seat to chop up, on the cheap.

Re: Major interior change desired

I know exactly where you're coming from. I have a 90 Lesabre that I needed to add a centre console. I didn't want to spend a bunch on a custom. I found a cheap but very handy console at the local Canadian Tire ( Canadian eh!). A guy at work saw it one day and asked if it was factory. It matches the grey interior beautifully. It has 2 cupholders, CD storage, kleenex dispensor and 2 hidden trays. It fits on the hump between the 2 front seats. I carefully drilled through the floor and using self tapping screws and some undercoatiing around the holes anchored it the floor. The URL is

http://www.canadiantire.ca/assortments/browse_product.jsp?FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=140847439 6669583&ASSORTMENT%3C%3East_id=1408474396670271&bm UID=1111467779729&FOLDER<>browsePath=2534374303517 494&FOLDER<>browsePath=2534374303517528&FOLDER<>br owsePath=1408474396669583

Nor sure whether they ship to the states but a call might get you the manufacturers name. The next time I'm in one I jot it down and forward it to you.
It's nice to be able to help out someone who has helped so many in the past.

You're awesome jgeorg, and thanks for saying those nice things about me.

Your link redirects itself to the Canadian Tire homepage, what is the product number, Product# 37-1140-4 is the closest to what you described.

Re: Major interior change desired

That's the one. I'll call today and find out the manufacturer's name. I really appreciate the advice, it's saved me money and time, not to forget the frustration that goes with repairs.

Re: Major interior change desired

I have a tan interior, i'd like tan colored.

I'll keep shopping around, but that'll be my last resort.

Re: Major interior change desired

They are made by Hopkins Manufacturing out of Emporia Ks. Check out their website at www.hopkinsmfg.com. The closest item to what I
have is either SSC-BLA-DLX or SSC-CHA-DLX Deluxe Console. Good luck.

They call it beige but looks like most on this site come in 4 or 5 interior colors. Problem is, the photo's are not really made for selling. They have dark pictures of black consoles that don't even enlarge to show you what you're getting. I would get rid of that web designer...

Angry Major interior change desired

tman2093 I rode in a 2000 lesabre with the large center console and I checked it out an it was a bucket seat with the factory console because the part of the seat you are talking about cutting it was not there. I would like the same thing but can't find bucket seats. If you find bucket seats then it should have a large center deluxe console. email me if you find anything [email protected]. Thanx. Instead of putting alot of money in my cars exterior I will put it in the interior and can how can I spice up the gauges like different colors...
