I have a 89 dynasty that has been sitting in the back of my house for about 2 years and i wanted to put it back on the road for the winter.
But the car has a few issues. The heater went out on it a few years ago, i had a friend replace the heater core for me but that did not solve the problem, ended up having to take it to the mechanic and he said it was a resister pack or something. Then a few years later, there was a burning smell coming thru the vents, it smelled like a woodstove, but the smell would come and go. The mechanic said it was just leaves that were on top of the blower motor that were getting hot, i believed him and didnt do anything, the motor died 3 days later. I had a spare motor and was going to put it in, but i wanted to know, do i have to remove the glove compartment and is it a difficult job to do? Also the car needs all new brake lines, and the prices i get seem quite high, i guess it is a difficult job but does anyone have any suggestions of where i can bring the car to in the Toronto area that charges reasonable rates and does a good job? And my last question, my dynasty had a bump shift problem, and it would set codes "fault immediately after shift" and "transmission ratio error" the car would only bump shift once a month, otherwise it drives fine. Hopefully it is not a complete tranny failure coming on. Thanks in advance for any answers....

Re: 1989 Dynasty -- No Heat, please help..
You can access your blower motor through your glove compartment, it's not too bad, a novice could do it in less than 2 hours. Sorry I can't help you much about a place in Toronto, I live in FL and if you were in the Orlando area, I'd do it for you! Your bump shift thing, best thing I can tell you is to go to a Chrysler dealer and ask to get your transmission control module reprogrammed, that'll fix the bump stop.
