How Hard/Much is it if I wanted a Turbo

I was thinkin of getting a Dodge/Chrysler/Plymouth Daytona/laser or maybe even a Le Baron.

I dont really want a standard and most Daytonas that have Turbos are standard. If I were to get an automatic then It will likely not have a Turbo.

I was wondering if anybody could tell me how much it costs($canadian) to add a turbo to a Daytona or Le Baron.

Does anyone have any good sites where I can find out how to add a turbo?

You should be able to just swap the computer, turbo, and other assorted parts off a turbo I or II car onto a NA one; though the suspensions may be quite a bit different. the Turbo III or IV I think had a stronger block than the T1 or 2 setups.

Re: How Hard/Much is it if I wanted a Turbo

If you want to swap N/A to Turbo you need to get the Engine too as well as the Electronics, Wiring, sensors and solenoids, and even a different Fuel Pump for the tank, plus the Turbo Tranny and Converter, Intermediate Shaft that bolts to the Block so you can run the Equal Length Halfshafts, I can go on. N/A Engines also have higher compression than Turbo Engines do by 1 or 2 points as well as different conecting rods, plus the block doesn't have the provisions for the water and oil return connections for the Turbo. Turbo Rods have an oil squirter on the big end to spray oil on the underside of the Piston to cool them, N/A Rods do not. They won't handle even moderate boost without something going or it detonating itself to ruins. There are plenty of Le Baron's and Daytona's out there with Turbo Engines and Automatic Trannys.

Exactly, most of the turbo cars came with a Turbo I and the A-413 automatic. Don't waste the time and money to convert from TBI to turbo because it will require far too much of both. You would be much better off finding am automatic Turbo I car and doing a Turbo II conversion. I also suggest you take a look at the following website:

Donovan's Dodge Garage.
