318i

I have a 318i that seems to have a fuel or sensor problem. The engine itself sounds strong but it makes sporadic idle changes and runs intermittently as if something was partially clogging the fuel filter and then not... I'm hoping that someone with veteran experience will read this and instantly recognize the telltale signs. I thought that the computer (above in the glove box)may have been faulty so I replaced it but that didn't work. It must be one of the sensors but that will take some time because I have zero experience. Any suggestions would be welcomed and appreciated.
Thanks

I have a 85 318i also and have the same idle problems. I've been told u have to replace the Idle control brain(in glove box) AND the idle control valve. (right on top of the engine) . both u can do yourself. ( i replaced my own alternator and belts. and I like u HAD ZERO experience. it was pretty easy.. later.. hope that helps
