Polished Aluminum Wheels- fairing well in winter salt?
Hi all. For those that have the polished aluminum wheels... I just bought my Envoy recently. How well do these wheels hold up against the salt on the roads during the winter? Does anyonbody suggest putting a protective coating of some corrosion resistor to reduce pitting? Or is it really not necessary? Thanks for any advice!

To be honest, not very well. The first winter does the most damage and after that the damage seems less noticable. From my experience, no treatments or coatings really do much. I would just power wash 'em with water as often as possible.

A good way to protect any wheel in the winter is to spray WD-40 all over them. It naturally resists water and salt on the roads. try it you wont be disapointed!

P.S. do not wash the WD-40 off or wipe it!

just be careful not to spray your brakes w/ the wd40! maybe mask the inside of the wheel w/ newspaper or plastic when youo spray them... and if you do accidently spray them... please paint your envoy neon green so if i ever see you on the road i can avoid you.....
wd40 on rotors and pads = ohhhh s*@t i cant stop |
