Ignition coil and Nology wires

Well i started thinking about 2 hours ago about some small things i want to do to my car. Well i already won my bid on 4 Silverstone Silver SPark plugs for real cheap off ebay 35 dollars. and with that since they are nology id like to know what to do. yea nology wires will run u a bit but are they worth it. i heard that the current state of my engine not very hooked up that msd ignition would really make much of a difference. so i was thinking maybe id go starting with the spark plugs.... supposedly some of the best out there. id go nology wires, m70 ignition coil, nology distributor cap, nology powercore ignition amp kit and i think thats about it. anyone had experience with these i mean ive done a bit of research and they seem to be nice. i want to start with ignition. thanks in advance for any input. oh yea its a 91 acura integra with a b18b obd 1 conversion and its a 4 door.... pimpin i know.

Re: Ignition coil and Nology wires

why on earth would u upgrade your ignition first? u can get an intake and headers for the amount of $ u are spending on that stuff that will net you 1/2 a hp.

Re: Ignition coil and Nology wires

Ignition upgrades are useless on our cars, the stock system is capible of supporting a lot of HP. I would spend my money else where.

well the nology wires alone are what im lookin at add 2-5% hp which is 4-7.5 hp on the b18b. and when i said stock i meant engine internals. i have aem cold air intake dc 4-2-1 headers and flange back flowmaster exhaust. those were put on a year ago when i got the car. i wanted to go external ignition coil because i have heard things about the ignition coil in the integras. maybe wrong or misleading info. well id like to go nology wires becaause they will work best with the stock coil and currently i have the xact wires and they just aint doing it for me. i have replaced the xact wires 3 tims in the last 8 months. they keep grounding out. so the nolgy wires and powercore will run me 170 i mean not too much but what else can i do under the hood without doing internals?

Re: Ignition coil and Nology wires

The nology wires are great wires. I have personally used them on my NA teg and liked the results. Nothing really powerwise (perhaps 2-4hp.) There was much better gas mileage though. I agree, to upgrade your ignition on an NA car is really a waste. The oem ignition has a lot of joules per spark. Unless you are boosting, I see no need for the external coil/ignition.
The obd0 distributors did hae a great deal of problems; however, the obdI disty's seem to have overcome the problems.
Some other up-grades to consider under the hood:
1. Suspension
2. catch can
3.tb
4.pulleys (underdrive as well as PS and ALT)
5. oil cooler
6. Radiator (aluminum; ie, Fluidyne)

These are just a few of the upgrades you could consider.
