Check Engine LIGHT! "EGR Valve" lift sensor

hey guyz...my check engine has been coming on after I drive my car for so long..."93 Honda Prelude VTEC" and well today I did the code read and it blinked One's LONG and twice short meaning it's code 12th Exhaust Gas Recitculation (EGR) Valve Lift Sensor...and well my question is how do I fix this? LoL..thing is I when to auto-zone and the guy told me that it cost 230 dollars!! I was like WoW!!! but he something about checkin' it cause they rarely mess up and specially on Honda's and if they do it's on way way way older models he said..tho he didn't really explain on how to fix the problem...(I didn't really ask either...yes dum I know.. ) so can u guys give me some answer's/help? any input is welcome...

You can pop it off and try cleaning the crap out of the inside. You may have carbon built up in there slowing the passage. brake clean and a wire. This may save you some money

Kool...will do....thing is I tried taking it off today and well I took off one screw and the other one is all messed up "scrapped up" so know it won't come of with the ranch/extainson on a 12...so how can I take this stupid screw off? please HELP!!

urghhhhhhhh...y can't I ever buy a LUDE that's doesn't need WORK!!!!
