94 Jeep GC Laredo Starting problems
This has been going on for weeks. Tried to start it in the morning and all is dead. Not a sound - nothing. Tried jump starting it and it will only make a clicking noise. Had it towed in, they charged the battery and it fired right up. The battery checked out fine. Next instance about 3 weeks later. After sitting idle for about 8 hours, turned the key - dead. Tried jumping it again. Nothing but clicking noise. Came back the next day and had to push it to get room to jump it. Put the cables on and it fired right up. The ignition switch seemed to be exceptionaly loose causing the dash lights to flicker on and off so I had a new ignition switch put in. Got up the next day and guess what - yep - dead. My next guess is the solenoid could be bad and causing the battery to drain when the car is off. Anybody else got any ideas?

Re: 94 Jeep GC Laredo Starting problems
Clean and tighten the battery terminals and posts.
2nd it might be time to replace the battery all together. my battery went dead when the jeep was sitting for about a week and jumped it and then it seemed like everyday after that it was drained, I also had a problem with my IAC Valve and after trying to start a few times it would kill the battery, well I bought a new batter and it cranks alot faster and hasn't gone dead since been a lil over 3 months. |

Re: 94 Jeep GC Laredo Starting problems
I would have to say the battery wires as well as the terminals......Jeep's wires suck! I'm constantly having problems with mine. I would also get a new battery if yours keeps draining. I prefer Optima batteries, but I'm also running a rather large entertainment system. They can drain and recharge more often than regular batteries (so the studies say?).

Yea, if you seriously want the best battery out there and don't mind spending the extra dough then an OPTIMA is the way to go.
