I'm looking to put an aftermarket radio in my girls '03 Civic DX. I was told first off that I might have to hide the stock radio somewhere below everything.
Second, how do I go about taking out the stock radio? Does the panel around the knobs and air ducts just pop off? The top seems to start coming off easy, but I don't want to force it. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks! |

Re: 03 Civic DX radio
Hiding the radio was only on the older civic's 96-00. To remove it you need to pull out the lower dash panel. Were the accessory outlet is. Its held in with just clips. Once thats out there is two 8 mm bolts that screw up into the bottum of the radio bracket. Take those out and then the whole bezel around the radio and the radio comes out in one pice. Clips hold that in too

The part you said, there's a little "cubby hole" so to speak there, just kinda, pop it out? I just tried real quick with my hands and it just seems like it's going no where, so just kinda jimmy a knife or something in one of the sides and pop it out?
Thanks again! |
