Re: Arguement Paper

I prefer my cars to be multinational, such as a typically considered Japanese company partially owned by a US manufacturer that used the basis for one of the Japanese cars for its Sweedish brand.

Re: Arguement Paper

I drive an import, a 91 Honda CRX. It gets good gas mileage (usually imports get better gas mileage than domestics), not always, but i'd say usually they're better on in-class performace, but parts are more expensive.

Re: Arguement Paper

I'm a hardcore domestics man, I prefer Chrysler over any car in the world. I know Chrysler and other American cars have their issues, but who doesn't? There is NO superior car in the world; there are cars that are more reliable than others and that happens every day. Case in point, my mother owns a '95 Camry, she needed a starter and I ended shelling out $275 for one; my next door neighbor needed a starter for his '95 Dodge Stratus, $75. My point is, yes American cars have a few more issues than imports but when things go wrong w/ imports, they're prices are way more higher and they expect a higher quality for them. You can't use Autozone quality brake pads on a Toyota; it'll sing and squeal like a parakeet, but if you want it to be nice and quiet and not leave black soot all over your tires, spend $100 for 8 brake pad (assuming you have 4-wheel disc) compared to $45. Imports last longer, yes they do, but maintenance on them is much higher than an American car.

Re: Arguement Paper

This is a very broad topic and the answer is not simple. It really all comes down to your preference and what you are trying to accomplish with your car.

Re: Arguement Paper

I say imports cause i am 20 and dumb.....j/k
but I say imports because something is wrong with some domestic cars.....bigger cars, bigger engines does not always mean better. And I like the styling better besides expensive ass caddys and corvettes
newer american styling has started to look and act a little more importish

Re: Arguement Paper

I think that a lot people think of imports has japanese cars, frankly I hate japense cars and aerican cars. Japense cars are very small, and are ussually underpowered, american cars and even more underpowered, can't turn, don't come in manual trannies when they are high powered, and tend to suck in general

I like German cars, every germen car I've sat in has been seclent, although i feel that mercedies is a little behind the others. It all come down to the fact that if the Jetta came in AWD I'd buy it next year. And if you could get a quatro or an 325Ci for under $27,000 I'd buy that instead.

Re: Arguement Paper

Voted wrong for Domestic, should have voted for import. Number one reason: GM, you're f--king kidding us! Sport sedan Grand Prix, NO MT option?! 3.8L(N/A) with less power than a 3.0L(N/A) Camry?! TrailBlazer in 5 different badges(Chevy, GMC, Oldsmobile, Buick, SAAB), what have you been smoking?!
Ford, don't laugh, you TRAITOR! You are the same! Stupid Taurus for the States, but Falcons(RWD bombs) for the Australians?! Nice 2nd Gen Focus, not available for the States?!
Chrysler, you're not too much better than those two. Remaking the old SLK and think that's a good thing?! Calling the "New" Dodge Charger NEW?! What is 300C? Taking the Eclipse to make the Stratus Coupe and former Plymouth Laser, Eagle Talon, but dumping Mitsubishi when they have problem...

Come on, BIG Three, that's enough of fooling us as American people... We are not that dumb and can't tell the Freestar from a Windstar...

Import vs Domestic threads are pointless and will always turn into a flame fest, for this reason we lock all import vs domestic threads.
Please do not start anymore Impost vs Domestic threads in the future.

Also I would suggest another topic for an argument paper, anything concerning politics would be perfect.

Thank you
Tim
