[b]Hey 240 guys! I have a question for all of you, and I'm sure someone knows the answer. I have a 1993 Nissan 240SX Fastback, and i was wondering if anyone knew how to remove the dashboard without cracking or breaking anything important, but then again, everything on a 240SX is important. If anyone knows the removal process, i'll be greatly in your debt for your help. I'll be sure to get back to you whoever helps. Thanks![b]

Re: Dashboard Removal Process.
While your waiting for an answer here post again in cars in general. Go to CARS IN GENERAL forum and then go to INTERIOR, those guys know what solvents or whatever to help in your project.

Re: Dashboard Removal Process.
10 year old cars aren't made that complex... it's fairly easy to take apart everything. I was able to get into my dash and install a custom switch for my 'sleepy eye.' I have a 93 fastback as well.
Just take it slow... and don't force anything... start in the morning so you have as much light as possible.. (once it gets dark holding a flash light and screwing out screws would be a bitch). I ended up taking off the side sills for the step first... then the fuse box.... then the bottom half of the driver's dash... then the attachments for the top is exposed... etc... I would understand if you were taking apart a more modern car... (cuz you can't see shit).. but older models are relatively easy to disassemble. 2 yen.

Thanks!
Hey, well so far I've tried going to 'Cars in General' for the information, so I'm going to wait for a response there and see what they say (thanks: 93-240SX-COUPE). I'm also going to use the mornings to my advantage (thanks for that information: SHIFT_KA24DE). But if anyone has the actual dashboard removal process, that'd be great! Thanks again!

fsm for your s13 read up. all taking out the dash involves is a matter of unscrewing all the bolts, disconnecting the harness clips around the steering column and pulling it out. takes a little more than an hour if you know what you're doing. set aside 2.5 hours if its the first time you're doing it.
