NAV problems

Hi, I have the '05 Grand Cherokee Limited with DVD nav. I recently found the first bug in the Jeep. As I was going to enter in an address the other day, the joystick became detached from the mechanism that allows it to work. In other words, it was still attached, but it felt slightly loose and is in no danger of falling off. I went to the dealer to see what they could do and they responded that the only way to fix it was to replace the whole unit--at no cost of course, but the car would need to be in for a day. They never saw that model of a broken NAV system before. Is ther anything else to do, mabye any of you have had this problem?

Thanks!
