dhp pcm

Hello Im thinking of buying a DHP Pcm for my 99 GTP. It has 93000 miles on it, CAI, Smaller 3.4 pulley, Tb spacer, and two heat range colder plugs TR6's. Will i be able to just swap out the DHP pcm for my stock and not have to worry about check engine lights and what not? I have heard of the case learn procedure when buying a new pcm and im not real sure what that is. Please let me know thanks.

The PCM should work great with the mods you have. Might want to do a little exhaust work in the future.

You will need a case learn. Any dealership that has a Tech II can do this. If your car is covered under a warranty you may not wantto have it done at the dealershipwhere you bought the car. It takes like two minutes to complete.

Here you go;

(Post #4)
Need to take it into a shop that can do a CKP Variation Learn/case learn.

Any time one of these has been replaced

CKP sensor
Front cover or bracket holding the crankshaft position sensor
Target wheel (reluctor)
Crankshaft
Engine block
Engine assembly
PCM

http://www.seattleautomotive.com/ckpdoc.htm

97-2003 Engine CASE learn procedure:For DHP

1. Turn the key to on position
2. Turn Tech II on
3. Select the Diagnostics Menu
4. Select Car Information (Year, Make, Engine, Etc.) (Make sure they enter 1998 as the year.) (Also you will be asked what type of product line/type. It is a single letter code. Which corresponds to the first letter in your VIN)
5. Select Special Functions.
6. Select Variable Crankcase Learn Procedure.
7. Follow On Screen Directions.

The Crankcase Learn Procedure is going to ask the Technician to do the following:

1. Put E-brake On.
2. Make sure car is in neutral or park.
3. Turn engine on
4. Rev Car to Rev Limiter (car will hit limiter at 3,000 RPM)
5. Wait about 5 seconds.
6. Rev Car to Rev Limiter (The car will this time hits about 5,500 to 6,000 RPM)
7. Wait about 5 seconds.
8. Car is done.

Re: dhp pcm

Here's another (samething);
Print out the instructions and take it to the dealer or a shop that has a Tech II or IIRC even a good Snap On scaner will preform the crank position relearn.Tell them you need to have this service done and not to FLASH the PCM.
