Throttle Body Spacer

Im thinking about putting a throttle body spacer on my 00 GTP. What kind of power will I gain from getting this? Can I put one on a GTP?

Yes you can put one on a GTP and it has to do with something about the heat or getting the throttle body away from the supercharger and heat generated by it.

I am sure someone else will chime in and I will realize how stupid i can sound sometimes

Re: Throttle Body Spacer

TB spacer blocks a coolant passage that I guess was designed to help insure that the TB plate wouldnt freeze up in cold conditions.

Doubt you'll notice any gains from a spacer. The real gains come down the road when u drill a hole in it and add a nitrous nozzle or alky nozzle to it.

Throttle body spacers are designed to isolate the throttle body (TB, from here on) from heat that is dissipated through the metal from the supercharger housing. The theory is that if you can keep the TB cooler, the air charge will be that much cooler as it enters the supercharger. The spacer is made of a material that does not conuct heat well, therefor stays cooler than the metal it contacts. I plan to do this mod in the near future.

The coolant passage that Jim mentioned is designed to help the TB warm up quicker on cold starts. Be careful that you use silicone on the gasket when installing a spacer so as to prevent coolant from leaking into and mixing with the aircharge coming in through the TB.

I've been staying at my office during lunch since gas prices are OUT OF CONTROL. Made it myself.

Good job.
Now when do you want me to send my pictures so you can make one for me?

OK, you'll have it tomorrow. It's 2:30. And as we all know, I'm getting old.
I'll email that out tomorrow.
Thanks
